Kotuku Foundation: Assistance Animals Aotearoa (KFAAA) is a National Registered Charity (CC42226) established in 2006 for the purpose of sourcing, raising and training Therapy, Companion and Disability Assistance Dogs for those with medically-diagnosed disabilities falling beyond the scope of existing Disability Assistance Dog organisations currently registered under the Dog Control Act (1996) and for whom a professionally trained Assistance Dog would mitigate such disability.KFAAA trained and placed the first Neurological Disability Assistance Dog in 2007 and was the first alternative Disability Assistance Dog (DAD) organisation to publicise the dilemma of DADs and Public Access rights when our dog appeared on TVNZs Close Up 27 June 2008. A KFAAA interview aired on RNZs One in Five 28 March 2010.As a provider member of IAADP and NZCAC, KFAAA is committed to professionalism within the DAD sector.Donations accepted at any branch of the National Bank. Those over $5.00 are tax-deductible.
