  • My little story about Tomas and his amazing 3D flight simulator is in the March issue of North&South (pge 24)- now out. And  looking forward to seeing the publication of my story in a future issue about Marlborough astronomer, Bill Allen and his involvement in an international astronomy project studying light which dates back to the beginning of time. NB I wrote about Bill in North&South in 1997 and you can see that story under journalism in this website- it’s still one of my all time favourite stories!

Neal had exported up to 70 tons of seeds per year to the US snack market for 10 years but was eventually undercut by Russian suppliers, so Vile and Neal put their heads together and had the idea of making pumpkin seed oil. So Glenn and wife Alison decided they would head home to the golden summers of Marlborough where a 12 year old Glenn had driven tractors for crop and seed grower Garth Neal.

In the late 1970’s, after a 10 year apprenticeship writing for School Publications, Cowley with the help of editor and reading teacher June Melser, wrote120 stories for the Story Box series to fill a gap for relevant reading materials in NZ schools.
