Art Festivals | Wendy Walls

Port Waikato is known for its talented artists and recently I had the pleasure of tutoring Port Waikato’s established art group ‘Art at the Port’ in mixed media painting. Arriving with aprons and their lunch, the group experimented with fluid acrylics, tissue paper, moulding paste and other creative art materials, with impressive results.

My regular students and I will be exhibiting and demonstrating mixed media painting at the New Zealand Steel Gallery, Pukekohe, from this Friday for two weeks. Sisters Jean Breckon and Freda Harre, both in their 80s, have enjoyed ‘giving mixed media a go’ with excellent results. Here’s a preview of two artworks to be displayed.
