Vintage items are in general less than 100 years old and manufactured prior to 1990. While not a hard and fast rule, it allows me to capture most of the significant style eras of the 20th century in one place. There are crossovers of course between style eras and centuries (at both ends). For example the Arts & Crafts movement spans the period 1880 -1920, Art Nouveau 1880-1915 and Modernism 1860-1920 but within these time frames there is a predominance of design activity which places it more firmly in one century than another. At the other end of the century, from 1970 onwards, at some point we move from post modernism to contemporary but this is also fairly arbitrary!
Within the Vintage category, items listed will reflect the following style eras:
- Art Nouveau
- Art Deco
- Mid Century Modern
