You can choose from:

Competitive fees

You may agree for a contribution fee to be deducted from your account to pay for advice provided to you by a Mercer financial adviser (where applicable).

The management costs that apply to your account will depend on the investment option you choose and the value of your account.

You may be able to reduce the management costs that apply to your account by linking your account to another Mercer Portfolio Service account belonging to a member of your immediate family (i.e. your spouse, parents, children, brother or sister). This facility is called Family Group Linking.

Insurance options*

You can apply for a level of insurance that suits your needs+:

  • Life protection (death cover) only; or
  • Life protection (death cover) and Total & Permanent Disablement protection (TPD cover).


Example
- A 40 year old white collar male seeking $200,000 of death and TPD cover could expect to pay between $350 and $400 per annum.*

Estate planning

You can choose from:

  • Discretionary (preferred) death benefit nomination; or
  • Binding death benefit nomination.


Your beneficiaries may also request to receive death benefits in the form of either a lump sum or a pension.

Retirement income

Once you reach your preservation age, you can transition to retirement by transferring to a pension within the Mercer Portfolio Service.

At retirement, you can choose from the following types of income streams available within the Mercer Portfolio Service:

  • Allocated pension
  • Term allocated pension


You may be able to reduce the transactional costs that apply to your transfer to a pension within the Mercer Portfolio Service. This feature is called the Asset Transfer facility.

* The cost of life protection and TPD cover will vary depending on various factors such as your age, your gender, your general health history and current condition, and whether or not you smoke.
