Expert Evidence
LINKED provides expert evidence drawing on four decades of forensic science practice and the provision of expert testimony in hundreds of cases. Expertise in analytical science, forensic chemistry and biochemistry is augmented by expertise in quality systems. Our knowledge and experience of science and quality systems enables us to fully assess the reliability, or otherwise, of forensic evidence. As far as we are aware our approach to assessment is unique.

We are committed to ensuring an "equality of arms". We fully understand the role of the forensic scientist and are bound by a Code of Conduct established by the former UK based regulatory body, the Council for the Registration of Forensic Practitioners. The first priority for the Company is always casework. We are committed to meeting the deadlines of investigators, lawyers and the courts and delivering quality within given budgetary constraints.

Quality systems are now fundamental to the delivery of forensic science. Non-compliance with, or the absence of, an appropriate quality system can (and often does) render scientific evidence unreliable. LINKED can employ its expertise to closely scrutinise forensic case work to ensure that each stage of the forensic process is fit-for-purpose and therefore providing evidence that can be relied upon by courts of law and other tribunals.

Drawing on over 20 years' experience, the Company can provide services ranging from advice and guidance on the establishment, management and development of quality systems to the delivery of bespoke quality systems. The Company Directors are LRQA (Lloyds Register Quality Assurance) trained quality auditors and have a great deal of experience in quality audit. The Company can provide advice and guidance regarding the international standards ISO 17025, 17020, 17043, 17024, ISO Guide 34 and 9001.

LINKED can provide assistance to organisations considering, or preparing for, accreditation under the variety of standards that are relevant to forensic science practice. We can also aid organisations looking to develop or streamline quality systems to ensure customer requirements are met cost effectively.

Research Partnerships
It is widely recognised that research in forensic science is a neglected area. LINKED stands ready to use its research knowledge and expertise, gained over five decades of scientific practice, together with its contacts, and work with partners to identify new research themes, locate sources of funding, develop proposals and deliver outputs. Furthermore, we can provide project management for each stage of the research cycle.

Education and training
Effective education and training are essential for effective investigation, forensic practice and the delivery of justice. LINKED can provide tailored courses, ranging in duration from a few hours to a week, covering all aspects of the forensic investigation of explosives related incidents including scene management, laboratory protocols and interpretation.

We can also provide courses on quality systems, e.g. compliance with relevant ISO standards, covering quality management, protocols and practitioner competence.

For courses covering other fields the Company can draw on its international network of contacts and associates.

LINKED has long established, relationships with Forensic Institutes, Universities, and leading practitioners and academics in most fields of forensic science. This ensures that the Company can draw on world-leading expertise to address your forensic science issues. Network contacts include; the Association of Forensic Science Providers (UK), ENFSI (European Network of Forensic Science Institutes), FINEX (ENFSI Expert Working Group on Explosives), FIRMS (Forensic Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry network), IFPI (Independent Forensic Practitioners Institute), The Forensic Institute, the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Forensic Science Society, the Australia and New Zealand Forensic Science Society, the University of East Anglia, the University of Otago, the University of Kent, the University of Strathclyde and King's College London.

Our fees are competitive and, for services provided to overseas (non-New Zealand) clients, free of local sales tax. The absence of local taxes can be a significant factor when undertaking legally aided work. Overseas clients are charged in local currency and payment may be made into a local Company account.

Although located in New Zealand, close to the nation’s capital, the Company has global reach and retains a base in London to service UK and European clients. For overseas clients we are usually available for consultation between the hours of 2100(GMT) and 1300(GMT) the following day and are equipped for teleconferencing via Skype.
