The biggest wedding design trend for 2011 is definitely Indian enthused and inspired. With Katy Perry leading the way late last year with her traditional Hindu wedding in India, Nicole Ritchie using an exotic elephant as a greeter at her wedding to rocker Joel Madden and of course who can forget the wonderful film Eat, Pray, Love which will also help lead this new trend for all things Indian.

The wonderful thing about this trend is the fabulous vibrancy of the colours that usually include palettes of red, burnt orange, fuchsia and purple and the decor elements are rich and lavish with lots of swagging, drapery and beading. The colour ‘Red’ is considered to be the colour of married women in India and is highly featured within all elements of the wedding design. The wedding dress is the most important part of the bridal attire with other elements like jewelry, henna application and footwear completing the wedding look.
