Today, bowling is played in over 80 countries
and is the largest participant sport in the world,
with over 72 million participants in the
United States alone, many of those take
part in a league.
What is league bowling?
The term ‘League’ really means social club; one whose main activity is Tenpin Bowling.
A league season is organised so that every
team (singles, pairs, or up to teams of four) plays
all other teams at least twice. For most of our leagues we have everyone bowl using a handicap
At Kapiti Tenpin our season is 44 weeks, split up into four rounds. Every week you will play a new team; this is a great way to meet everyone in the league.
At the end of each round or season trophies,
prizes are handed out for a variety of
awards to members, usually at a social
Some of these include:
The team that wins,
Highest Handicap Game/Series,
Highest Scratch Game/Series
(A handicap makes the game even for
bowlers of different skill levels or experience, and we give
some free tuition.)
Free tuition is offered for all ages on Monday between 4:30pm and 6:00pm. And is also offered for juniors on a Sunday morning between 10am and 11am followed by 2 games played for $11.00.
