(Me Ngākau Mōhio ki te Riri – Programme for Wāhine Māori)

This seven session programme is offered to wāhine Māori who feel that their anger is out of control and is affecting their relationships with tamariki, partners, whānau, and their quality of life.  The programme will assist to identify the anger triggers and then develops strategies to keep those triggers from causing an angry response.  Sessions are 2½ hours long each week.

Kokiri Marae has been a Level 1 Child & Family Support Service under the Children, Young Persons & Their Families Act 1989 since 1993 and provides placement within M?ori homes for tamariki M?ori who have been removed from their homes by the Child Youth & Family Service. The care of tamariki placed in the caregiver’s home is a wh?nau position involving the whole wh?nau who are supported in their role by Kokiri Marae.

This service is designed to assist primary health care providers and well child providers by following up on Whanau who have tamariki that have missed their standard immunisations. The purpose of the service is to improve immunization rates amongst Maori, Pacific and other priority groups.
