Production

Production Fabrication of large quantities of mature flex circuits on a customers schedule. This typically involves blanket orders with schedule releases and may include "just in time delivery", "dock-to-stock delivery" and consignment arrangements.

  • Made2Manage ™ manufacturing software system provides information on all customer orders, materials, lot control, production processes, and costing.
  • Bar coding for real time order status to customer service, process analysis, and quality tracking.
  • Unique part number generated and maintained for configuration control
  • Continuous improvement program provides proactive input from all production departments.
  • ISO9001:2000 maintains a quality plan monitored and audited by a third party.
  • Documented training/cross training program for all employees.
  • Characteristic and Differential Impedance testing.
  • Real time X-Ray capability.
  • Automated optical punching of tooling holes for critical tolerance applications.
  • Vacuum lamination of all multilayer circuits.

Vulcan: Business Divisions - prototypes

This is intended to allow the customer the opportunity to quickly test their system before proceeding to production phase. Fabrication of a small number of newly designed flex circuits, to full certification, in a short period of time. Mechanical mock ups made with actual circuit material for fit and flex evaluation. All prototypes are subjected to Vulcan engineering producibility reviews.

Vulcan: Business Divisions - circuit layout

Generation of conductor patterns into circuit artwork layers, in Gerber (electronic data) format output, from customer specifications. Begin the circuit design simultaneously with the design of the product into which the circuit will perform. These Gerber files are then ready for CAM (computer aided manufacturing) processing into film tooling. Prior to design layout, analyze the final product mechanical requirements.

Vulcan: Business Divisions - producibility reviews

A review of the customer's design data (Gerber files, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, acceptance requirements and other specifications) from a manufacturing perspective resulting in comments and recommendations designed to increase reliability, producibility and cost effectiveness.
