Call for Entries - The deadline for entry is 31 August 2012.

The Aesthetica Art Prize which is now open for entries. The prize is a celebration of excellence in art from across the world and a fantastic opportunity for artists to showcase their work, furthering their involvement in the international art world. Developed from the Creative Works Competition, originally launched in 2008, the Art Prize has seen a number of winning artists go on to receive commissions, exhibitions and participate in a number of biennials.  

 As an internationally recognised art and culture publication, we are keen to have artists from Auckland participate with thePrize. There are no age requirements for the Aesthetica Art Prize and no formal qualifications needed.  

Eight shortlisted artists will be selected for an exhibition in spring 2013.  

 The judging panel this year will include: 

 • Frances Guy, Head of Collections & Exhibitions at the Hepworth Wakefield • Sculptor Kate MccGwire, represented by All Visual Arts, London • Photographic, film and video artist Neeta Madahar, represented by Purdy Hicks, London • Cherie Federico, Editor of Aesthetica Magazine  

 Artists working across all disciplines are welcome to submit work and the categories for entry are as below: 

 - Photographic & Digital Art- Three Dimensional Design & Sculpture
- Painting & Drawing- Installation & Performance 

 In addition to the exhibition one overall winner will receive £1000 prize money and editorial coverage in Aesthetica Magazine extending the reach of the artist. The winners and finalists, as well as a long list of artists will also be published in the accompanying publication. All artistsfeatured will receive a complimentary copy of this. 

 The entry fee is £15 and allows the submission of two pieces into any one category.The deadline for entry is 31 August 2012.
