Bred and certified by Kate Mander - breeder of elite black huacaya. Pejo Soleil is our new boy on the block this season. He is a compact, strong boned male with a lustrous, soft handling, and dense fleece.
Soleil is from an award winning line of black huacaya and carries genetics from Drambuie, Julius, Peruvian Pele and Sir Titus Salt. . This line consistently produces award winners, many of which have numerous colour championships and placings at large shows. During his short life Soleil's sire Pejo Centurion also produced Pejo Strongman - an award winning black stud male. His dam Joie De Vivre was one of Pejo's top breeding females. She also produced Chloden Graciela (Champion Black Female) and Pejo Josette (dam of Silverstream Jarrah, multiple champion winner).
Soleil has produced many for Terra Nova Alpacas including solid black and a rose grey/roan offspring. All these cria are significant improvements on their dams. They have a highly lustrous, soft handling fleeces with beautiful structure, good density and long staple length.
We are pleased to offer his black genetics to other breeders.
Soleil has proven his quality by producing ribbon winning progeny. His daughter Nyx our 13 month old black female sired by Soleil attended her first show, The Canterbury Show in 2011 and was placed 1st in her class 12-24 Intermediate Female Black, she was described as the clear winner. Nyx has now been sold for export to Germany.
Nyx was the first born of the progeny sired by Pejo Soleil. She has been to two shows where she recieved excellent comments. She has also been assessed by many alpaca breeders, their comments include:
"I love your girl because she had such a soft handling fleece for a black, soft primaries and little guard hair. These females are rare in the blacks." Liz Strack (Stoneleigh Alpaca Stud)
"Nyx is a beautiful female with a very lustrous, fine, well structured fleece. The beautiful slippery feel was a treat and she is BLACK!!"
