We are able to accommodate Rest-home, Hospital, and Stage 3 Dementia Residents.
All prospective residents for long term care must have undergone a 'Needs Assessment' from a Needs Assessor and Service Co-ordinator (NASC)
prior to admission. If you are being admitted from the community this is initiated by a referral from your Medical Practitioner. If you are being admitted from hospital the staff there will initiate this assessment for you.
All admission acceptances are subject to a St Andrew's Village Clinical Assessment (as well as a NASC assessment) by our Clinical Team to ensure that we can meet your needs.
If there are no beds available at St Andrew's Village at the time of your assessment by the NASC Team, and you wish to be placed at our facility, we can contact you as a bed becomes available.
As the fees and sundry charges may be subject to change, it is advisable to check with us before making a firm commitment. If you think you may be entitled to a subsidy you must obtain the form 'Application for residential care subsidy' from the NASC person or social worker dealing with your case.
We advise prospective residents to appoint an Enduring Power of Attorney for both Health and Welfare and Property and Finance. Information regarding this is available from the Public Trust, the Guardian Trust, the Law Society or your Solicitor.
We regret that St Andrew's cannot provide a service for people who require:
• Intensive supervision for psycho-geriatric care where a specialised Care Unit is required
• Care for which we are not contracted with the Auckland District Health Board (ADHB), for example mental health care.
