As Lead Maternity Carer (LMC) midwives we provide full midwifery care for pre-pregnancy/conception advice, pregnancy and the first six weeks following the birth of your baby/babies based on the latest evidence-informed midwifery practices. Within our role we work closely with other health providers whom we may refer to in circumstances which can arise during pregnancy. Throughout your pregnancy any issue for referral will be discussed in full with you ensuring any choices or decisions you make are based on full information disclosure. From your booking visit until you are 28 weeks pregnant you will have an antenatal appointment every four weeks, then every 2nd week until you are 36 weeks pregnant and weekly from this point until birth. If issues arise during pregnancy, antenatal appointments will be adjusted appropriately based on your individual needs. Following the birth of your baby, our visits at your home will be based on your needs and are negotiated on an individual basis.
