Seating To Go can only accept referrals directly from ACC for this service. Although we are able to provide assessments for people of all ages and ability, our particular areas of expertise include:

  • wheelchair and seating prescription for people with spinal injuries and traumatic brain injury
  • assessments for powered mobility for very young children and adults requiring specialty controls
  • prevention of secondary complications such as pressure areas, shoulder injuries, and postural asymmetry through individualised wheelchair and seating configuration
  • custom seating solutions for people with fixed skeletal problems.

Referrals to Wheelchair Solutions, our Ministry of Health assessment service, can be made by anyone with the consent of the person or their advocate. This service is provided for people who have complex wheeled mobility and seating needs who meet the Ministry of Health funding criteria.

This service is available for Ministry of Health assessors who are requiring advice or support in assessing and providing equipment for lying or night time positioning. It is a free service funded by the Ministry of Health and is only available to those assessors working in the Waikato, Eastern and Western Bay of Plenty, Lakes and Coromandel regions. Enable New Zealand and Accessable provide a similar service to assessors outside our region and should be contacted directly.

ACC Clients:

Seating To Go only provides repair services to ACC clients on request from the Managed Rehabilitation Equipment Services (MRES) providers, Accessable and Enable New Zealand, or ACC. Clients need to contact their ACC case manager in the first instance.

Ministry of Health (MOH) Clients:

Repairs are provided by Enable New Zealand or their subcontractors. Contact Enable New Zealand on

0800 171995 for further information.

MOH Modifications:

Seating To Go is able to provide modifications to MOH funded wheelchairs for any MOH clients in the Hamilton / Greater Waikato region, and all Wheelchair Solutions clients. This requires a request from a credentialed assessor. The assessor needs to ensure that specific details of the modification are included on the request form. The Seating To Go technicians are not expected to make clinical decisions but are happy to work with you to find a solution.

The Technician Service form is on the disability funding website:
