Perfect Produce - Cos Lettuce

Cos lettuce is said to have originated from the Greek island of Cos over 5000 years ago and may well be oldest form of cultivated lettuce. The spoon-shaped leaves of ‘Just B Cos’ are an ideal healthy snack - they are crisp enough to offer an alternative to chips and crackers. The emperor Augustus Caesar is said to have put up a statue to honour its healing abilities after being cured of a serious illness.

Perfect Produce - Bok Choi

Shanghai Bok Choi is thought to be the oldest of Asian greens and has been cultivated in China since at least the 5th Century. Bok Choi’ce is succulent and crunchy - It is the most irresistible member of the cabbage family. It is a member of the Chinese cabbage family, but it is smaller and has wider leaves. Sauté or stir-fry Bok Choi’ce or mix into a salad.

The shoots grow above the plant so they can catch the sunlight - It is this quick growth which gives the stems their attractive green colour, sweet taste and tender texture. Taste tests have shown children love the fact that Slenderstems are sweeter, crunchier and visually more appealing than traditional broccoli.
