To develop professional looking web sites, one would usually have to spend a lot of money with a graphic artist. Any minor changes in layout or content would usually require changes. Template driven web sites are boring and have very limited flexibility. Sites from the same host can look very similar. These options are usually offered for low cost web sites by hosting companies for a basic web presence.

P2P Limited has invested in its own infrastructure and owns its own physical web server for its clients. This server is hosted at a secure data centre with 24/7 backup power through a UPS bank and on-site power generators.

The Framework
The web application platform is based on the very latest Microsoft .NET framework with an enterprise quality back-end Microsoft SQL database. Currently, the prime purpose of this infrastructure is to facilitate an advanced web server for CFL clients using VETLINKSQL, PETLINKSQL, and HAIRLINKSQL.
Virtual Servers
Most companies developing sites will use a “virtual” server that a hosting company provides and host their clients’ web sites there. This way there is no need to make any major investment in hardware, the portal infrastructure, or database licenses, and you “pay as you go”.
A Dedicated Web Server

A dedicated server is a physical high performance server unit that is used exclusively by one company usually for one major project. P2P Limited has invested in multiple such servers for redundancy and reliability of service for its customers. Currently, the high quality Intel-manufactured servers have powerful dual core Intel Xeon processors with a half terabyte of disk space that is physically “mirrored” as a backup against any hard disk failures. The servers are in a 1U size (smallest size for a standard rack) and operate on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with a Microsoft SQL 2005 database back end.

What is a “Skin”?
The term "Skinning" refers to a software architecture which provides you with a manageable way to separate application logic and content from its presentation. This abstraction of "form" and "function" is sometimes referred to as a two-tiered presentation model. The advantages of skinning are that application logic and web page layout are separated and can be designed and modified independently. Skinning involves the use of stretchable "skins" which separate presentation and layout attributes from application logic. An intelligent skinning engine is then used to assemble the artefacts into a final product. This two-tiered approach affords both developers and designers a fair degree of independence when it comes to maintaining a web site, and can substantially reduce the time and effort required for future upkeep of the site. This P2P Limited site is developed using a “skin”.

P2P Limited > Services > Loyalty key tags

The personalised key tags, doubling as client identification and clinic branding, have a personalised barcode which is linked to the customer file so it will aid in quickly and efficiently finding the correct client record. Some loyalty schemes can be difficult to execute from the clinics, clients or suppliers perspective, while others have a ‘middle man’ who wants to profit from managing the programme.
