Winemaker's notes:

Made from 100% Pinot Noir this Rosé was produced by giving the grapes extended (4 days) skin contact under ideal, cool conditions to extract colour and tannins.  A completely natural wild ferment followed to create added complexity.

The colour is vibrant and alluring that promises a serious wine that is shown off admirably by the clear, arctic blue bottles. The nose is inviting with fresh red berry fruits.  The palate is robust and rich but crisp and clean with good acid, alcohol and sugar balance.  The flavours are of strawberries, raspberries and red currents with hints of almond and vanilla bean. The finish is dry and lingering.

The tannins are firm but fine that attest to its pedigree origins.  The wine is just off-dry with a residual sugar of approximately 5 g/litre.

We recommend you serve this wine well chilled.

Pinot Noir 200 » Northburn Station

Crop yields in 2008 were higher than average across the board in Central Otago and the Northburn fruit was fully ripe so with careful selection and handling this has produced a wine with excellent concentration and complexity. 100% natural ferment, hand plunged Pinot Noir which adds complexity to the wine, and ensures a steady fermentation rate.

2008 Bill's Blend Pinot Noir » Northburn Station

This 2008 vintage spent 10 months in French oak barrels to produce a robust, yet soft and approachable Pinot Noir to complement special celebrations. Soil: The top soil is a mixture of sandy and stony loam and the sub-soils vary between deep loose gravels and clay loam. The grapes were hand picked and the wine produced using traditional winemaking techniques. This 100% Pinot Noir was blended from several blocks within the vineyard.

2007 Pinot Noir » Northburn Station

Crop yields across Central Otago in 2007 were lower than average – and the Northburn fruit was fully ripe with increased concentration and complexity as a result of the reduced yields and small berries. This resulting wine is "smooth and velvety" with great depth of colour and layers of black cherries, plum, dark chocolate & coffee & hints of wild thyme.

2010 Pinot Gris » Northburn Station

The 2011 vintage was excellent for Pinot Gris with very clean, well balanced, fully ripe fruit and good varietal definition. The wine is rich and warming with oily textural qualities and a balanced and lingering finish. A very food friendly wine that will match a wide range of dishes.
