Winemaker's notes:

"Hand picked on 7th April from the Northburn Station vineyard. Whole bunch pressed followed by 5 days settling. A long (2-month) cool fermentation followed until nearly dry. Approximately 12% under went fermentation in an oak barrel. The wine had extended lees contact before very light fining and bottling”

Colour: Straw

Bouquet: Ripe quince fruit underpinned with a white pepper spice.

Palate: Just off-dry with apricots, biscuit crumbs and yeasty bread flavours. Rich and warming with oily textural qualities. A balanced and lingering finish.

Pinot Noir 200 » Northburn Station

Crop yields in 2008 were higher than average across the board in Central Otago and the Northburn fruit was fully ripe so with careful selection and handling this has produced a wine with excellent concentration and complexity. 100% natural ferment, hand plunged Pinot Noir which adds complexity to the wine, and ensures a steady fermentation rate.

2008 Bill's Blend Pinot Noir » Northburn Station

This 2008 vintage spent 10 months in French oak barrels to produce a robust, yet soft and approachable Pinot Noir to complement special celebrations. Soil: The top soil is a mixture of sandy and stony loam and the sub-soils vary between deep loose gravels and clay loam. The grapes were hand picked and the wine produced using traditional winemaking techniques. This 100% Pinot Noir was blended from several blocks within the vineyard.

2007 Pinot Noir » Northburn Station

Crop yields across Central Otago in 2007 were lower than average – and the Northburn fruit was fully ripe with increased concentration and complexity as a result of the reduced yields and small berries. This resulting wine is "smooth and velvety" with great depth of colour and layers of black cherries, plum, dark chocolate & coffee & hints of wild thyme.

2011 Rosé » Northburn Station
