NZ Polocrosse - NZ Vs NSW – Otorohanga 30th Jan 2010

The first test match between NZ and NSW was held at 4pm on Saturday 30th in very hot conditions.  This tested both the mental ability of the players and the fitness level of the horses. 

NZ had a great start and continued this throughout the game with a final score of 26, 7 to NZ.

Weather conditions on the Sunday made for a more tactical game.  Both teams stepped up to the challenge with the NSW team preventing NZ from shooting as many goals.  The final score was 22 to 7 to NZ.

Wanganui hosts the 3rd and 4th test matches on the 6th and 7th of February. 

The NSW team will have a week to reflect on their game play while the NZ team concentrates on making sure they can produce the results from last weekend

During the weekend there was also A, B & C grade competitions on; In the open divisions
A Grade winners were Putaruru/Tirau , runners up Kaitieke
B Grade winners were Putaruru/Tirau 3, runners up Putaruru/Tirau 2
C Grade winners were Kakatahi/Coounties combined, runners up Te Mata

NZ Polocrosse - Tuwharetoa Polocrosse Carnival Report

It was exciting on Saturday morning at our 8.00am karakia as people from all walks of life and all areas of NZ presented respective team uniform, knowing that in the two hours previously each and every one of these people were in pyjamas in the raining mist of our Turangi weather.
