Visiting Paihia or Kerikeri in the Bay of Islands? Morepork Riverside Lodge offers friendly Homestay-B&B accommodation. Our home is set in 1.6ha/4acres of native bush and gardens on the Waitangi River. We are conveniently located just outside Paihia township on the way to Kerikeri - a great place from which to explore The Bay and the rest of Northland. We serve a full (continental & cooked) breakfast in our dining room. We have nine chickens that Free Range around our Organic property so we can usually serve "home grown" eggs. If you're staying in the Riverview Room or the Waitangi Room you can opt to enjoy a private continental breakfast on your deck (or on the BBQ deck for our Puketona Room guests). Evening meals or snacks are available most nights by prior arrangement. We'd love to join you over a meal and swap stories of travel or chat with you about things to do in the Bay. Although we are both born-and-bred Kiwi's we have travelled extensively throughout the Pacific, some parts of Europe, and of course within New Zealand. We only accept bookings that include children in certain circumstances (e.g. whole of house bookings). So if you're travelling with children please enquire regarding availability. Please do not book online Enjoy a quiet stroll through our native bush down to the Waitangi River at the bottom of our garden. There are many birds around Morepork Lodge including New Zealand's native owl, the Morepork (Ruru in Maori). Rest, read, or picnic on the rustic BBQ table while listening to the wildlife and the sound of the river. Walk through our small olive and citrus grove to the creek and feed our friendly alpacas in the paddocks.
