About Waimea Weekly
Page Media Ltd is a wholly Nelson-owned media company which spans across print and the web, covering the entire Nelson and Tasman regions. Founded in 2005, the company publishes two community newspapers [Waimea Weekly and Nelson Weekly], an up-to-the-minute news website [Nelson Live] and also publishes the region’s Grey Power magazine. Having four titles under the one company means Page Media can offer advertisers un-matchable reach and results. Since its inception, Page Media has quickly developed a huge following and trust from readers and advertisers and – as the only locally owned newspapers in the region – has quickly become the most preferred by holding the majority of local advertising. Waimea Weekly Waimea Weekly was founded in October 2005 by local couple Steve Page and Jenny Bates. It steadily grew to become the region’s favourite newspaper. It has earned the trust of readers and advertisers alike with its strong presence in the community and strong focus on all things good in the region. The newspaper is based in Richmond (10 minutes south from Nelson city) and serves the Tasman region, delivering to slightly more than 10,000 homes each Wednesday to as far south as Murchison and St Arnaud. Nelson Weekly Nelson Weekly was founded in September 2010 as a sister paper to the Waimea Weekly. Steve and Jenny started it with another couple, Andrew and Sarah Board. It quickly established itself in a market that was crying out for a well-read community newspaper. Its success was quickly reflected when it won the 2011 Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce Emerging Business of the Year Award. Nelson Weekly is based in Nelson city and delivered to every home in the Nelson City Council region – a little over 20,000 homes. It publishes each Tuesday and has quickly become a favourite of local readers. Nelson Live Nelson Live was founded in early 2015 in reaction to a growing need for up-to-the-minute news and information from the Nelson region. Advertisers were also keen to supplement their newspaper advertising in this popular medium. Nelson Live has dedicated journalists working around the clock to ensure the latest news is live on Nelson Live. Grey Power Page Media publishes the region’s Grey Power Magazine. The publication is full of news and views targeted at the region’s rapidly growing older population. The magazine is delivered free to each of Grey Power’s 9000 members and gives advertisers an opportunity to reach that important market. With more than 100 years of combined media marketing experience the advertising team at Page Media knows how to get results and hold more local advertisers than any other newspaper. This is because the team works with advertisers to make sure they get results. Page Media is your home for news and advertising in Nelson and Tasman.
