The Center for Community Service supports students taking action to lead through service in and with the community.


Hunger Clean-up Leadership Team Applications Due:

Student-led Hunger Clean-Up efforts are designed to increase support for local programs addressing issues of poverty in Milwaukee. Throughout the year, the leadership team engages in service while creating awareness, collecting 1,000 pounds of food, acquiring business support, and organizing events to raise funds and human capacity to assist agencies and budget/plan for Marquette’s largest day of service on April 21, 2012. HCU leaders mobilize 1,500 individuals who, together with community partners, increase positive impact in Milwaukee.

Make a Difference Day - Saturday November 5, 2011
8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Join together with a group of 4-5 students to travel to a local senior's home to assist her/him in preparing for the winter months by raking leaves, cleaning windows, clearing gardens, putting up storm windows and other small projects. Register by October 19th with your team name or as an individual at:

Get Involved in Service | Marquette University

Ignatian Collegians Each year, dozens of students work in parishes and churches throughout the Milwaukee area teaching religious education and helping with youth programs. Commitments are for a semester or for a year and include regular reflection with other Ignatian Collegians, led by Campus Ministry staff. Belize Marquette students and Campus Ministry staff participate in the International Marquette Action Program during Christmas break.
