“World financial markets continue to rally as other economies appear to be over their recessions. In New Zealand there are still fears that we may have a double dip recession. If this is so then interest rates will stay low for longer than anticipated. There is no sign that interest rates will rise anytime soon. Therefore it is advisable to seek professional advice rather than rushing in to chase returns.
One commodity that is being pushed at present is gold. Gold is seen as the “safe haven” investment when economies are in trouble. This is evidenced by the fact that the gold price has risen strongly over the past twelve months. If world economies are improving and investors are moving towards more liquid investments, such as shares and listed property, what effect will that have on the gold price?
Seek qualified advice before taking up any investment option”.
Relay For Life
Our team was again entered into the Relay for Life in Palmerston North. This is a 24 hour fundraiser to raise funds for the fight against cancer. The money raised all goes into the local area. Ken has been the organiser for our team each year. He does a great job and is ably supported by the staff, his children, and family. We also had the assistance of Roger "Rabbit" Symes, a trainer from the City Fitness Gym. The team was 19th out of 105 and we managed to raise enough money to keep our Gold Star Category for another year.
