Laptop Leashes | Lock it Down New Zealand

By: Lock It Down  05-Apr-2012

Leashes are a convenient security option for laptop users on the move. All laptops now have a small security slot or “micro slot” (about 7mm x 3mm) built into the laptop side-casing.

The closed arm of a chair, a pole, a fixed table leg etc all serve as an on-the-move “anchor point” for the eyed end of the Leash. The other end of the Leash has a keyed locking lug that fits into the laptop’s “micro slot”. Two keys are supplied per Leash.

The Premium Laptop Leash and Desk Anchor Plate.

The Compact Coiled Leash – shown anchored to chair arm.

iMac Chain | Lock it Down New Zealand

A thin decorative plate, serving no security function, finishes off the very simple Chain install. This ‘Plug’ fits snuggly into the correspondingly tapered hole of the iMac aluminium stand. At the other chain end is a Desk Pin that inserts and locks to the desk. It is impossible to disconnect the security device from the iMac. A smaller Secondary Lock captures the peripheral cables. At one end of this chain is a weld-attached 5mm thick.
