  • Regional Geothermal Resource Evaluation

Regional geologic models and their input to geothermal models can be easily constructed using Leapfrog Geothermal's intuitive workflow. Interpretation and development of the geothermal field is easy with 3D visualisation of the geological structures. Leapfrog Geothermal can combine a range of data sources to produce geological and numerical models. 3D models allow a greater understanding of the evolution of the geothermal field with the ability to visualise relationships.

Models are built directly from data through a process of refinement. New data and user-defined interpretations can be automatically incorporated into existing models to update the interpretation. Tough2 models (with Mulgraph geometries) can be imported for comparison to current data sets.

New geothermal boreholes can be easily introduced to models using the borehole planning tool. This enables the user to locate a new borehole and control the various aspects of directional drilling.  Once the new borehole is decided, a prognosis can be generated showing the materials and conditions expected to be encountered at specific points down the borehole.

Faults are an important factor in determining the geology and the fluid flow in a geothermal field. The Viewer can be downloaded for free from the website, allowing all stakeholders to see and explore the results in a true 3D environment. Saving 3D scene files lets you create an interactive storyboard of the model development process which can then be showcased in a Windows Media movie.
