There is over-riding perception social media is synomoous with free. New-comers especially will be instantly turned off by the prospect of paying for anything – “Oh you’re trying sell me something? Yuk, See ya!” Established users may be able to see the benefit from the premium services on offer, but forget about attracting skeptical new-users.

I repeat cannot run any sort of competition in an FBML tab…unless you have a monthly add spend of 15k (or around 5k if you partner with Wildfire). Recently we’ve been working with one of our clients to get a facebook competition up and running. This makes it completely unrealistic for the small or medium sized business.
