Individual Coaching Services: Career Coaching:
Opportunity, disappointment, frustration, fulfilment, headaches and rewards – these seem to be common ingredients for most careers. This personalised service puts more of the control over your career back in your hands, whatever your situation.

Mapping out our future direction can sometimes feel like charting your way through fog. You may be returning to work or in a time of transition as a result of redundancy or organisational restructure. Perhaps you are seeking a portfolio career, or a way of transitioning into retirement. Or perhaps you feel trapped doing what you’ve always done.

Whatever the case, Iolite’s partnership approach will assist you in determining and then pursuing your career direction.

Effective career management begins with understanding yourself. Iolite offers a variety of career assessment tools designed to help you really understand and articulate your key skills, work interests and values. This ranges from well known tools such as Myers-Briggs personality profiling through to more customised tools for identifying core skills, interests and values, and and understanding key influences on your career and career decision-making.

Which skills do you wish you could use the most? Which skills would you most like to develop? And which skills do you wish you didn’t need at all? Are you passionate about certain industries or sectors? What are your career values and how do you get these values met within your world of work? What are your lifestyle needs and priorities? Effectively answering questions such as these will help equip you with the tools you need to identify your options, develop an action plan and to make informed and meaningful career decisions.

Employment coaching may be the next step in your career management process and our career coaches will also work with you on effective self-marketing to secure that next role. This can range from developing an effective CV and understanding the latest in interview techniques through to developing job search techniques to help you find that next role and then successfully navigating the interview process once you’ve found it.

Leadership / Management Coaching:

This is a personalised coaching service specifically designed for people who are new to executive, management, team leadership and supervisory roles. We also offer coaching for existing managers and leaders who want to reflect on their roles and improve their leadership skills. In conjunction with the coaching service our team will often make profiling tools such as Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) or Team Management Systems (TMS) available as part of the programme. These tools can also be of great value in identifying the various strengths and challenges inherent in our natural leadership styles.

Life Coaching:
Life coaching provides an opportunity for individuals to take time to reflect on chosen aspects of their lives - exploring options for growth and development and mapping a pathway to achieving desired goals. It’s a supportive, facilitated process and a highly personalised service.

Myers-Briggs Personality Profiling:

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI) is a psychological personality profiling tool designed to help you understand yourself, your motivations, your natural strengths, and your potential areas for growth.

One of the most popular and recognised profiling tools in the world, it is used effectively to help individuals:

  • understand themselves
  • manage their stress
  • develop their emotional intelligence (EQ)
  • identify their preferred coaching and leadership style
  • enhance their communication style
  • identify how they are most likely to function within organisational and team settings by focusing on how they contribute to the organisation in line with their preferred leadership styles, learning styles, problem-solving approaches, and work environments.  It also raises awareness of potential pitfalls and suggestions for development.

Although we often recommend using Myers-Briggs as an ideal complement alongside our other services, the Iolite team can also provide Myers-Briggs as a stand alone service. MBTI is arguably the most widely used personality assessment in the world today.

Organisational Services: TrainingPersonal Resilience Workshops:

These workshops are designed to provide participants with a practical model of resilience that they can put into practice during those times of change and adversity that can pop up in any area of life. As part of the workshops, participants will also learn which factors lower and which factors strengthen resilience – and develop strategies to address the former and build on the latter.

Each participant will leave these workshops with an action plan that will help consolidate learning and serve as a detailed guide when it comes time to put these strategies into practice.

Career Development Workshops:

Tailored to the needs of your organisation, these workshops are designed to equip people with the tools to effectively manage their careers by exploring career development from a variety of perspectives. Topics may include matching employees’ values and skills, interests and ideas with the opportunities that the organisation may be able to provide.

Engaging in career development services will also help organisations to:

Increase staff engagement and productivity

Identify the next steps individuals may want take within the organisation

Identify the best fit between individuals and any current or potential roles

Although this service is offered here in the form of workshops, it can also be delivered through individual coaching.

Career Planning Workshops:

These workshops offer professional assistance for managers to help formulate individual and organisational career development plans that are developed in line with the strategic direction of the organisation.

This service can also be delivered as individual coaching or in a workshop format.

Change Management Workshops:
For Managers:

These workshops are designed to align with an organisation’s strategic direction and goals. Their focus is to equip managers to effectively lead their organisation, and their own staff, through change.

The workshops are designed to assist managers to identify key factors that affect morale, satisfaction, and productivity during change and then to assist leaders to develop strategies to effectively manage these factors while still looking after themselves.

Change processes are some of the most stressful workplace experiences – both for those leading them and those affected by them. These workshops will help individuals and organisations navigate seasons of change in a way that is both more effective and more sustainable for all.

For Staff:
These workshops are specifically designed to assist staff to positively manage their roles and responsibilities during periods of organisational change. They will help raise awareness of self-care practices and encourage people to take responsibility for their own response to the situation. As this occurs they are often able to identify previously unseen opportunities in the change process and begin charting their own course once again.

These workshops are designed to help people approach seasons of change, whether favourable or unfavourable, from a position of empowerment and self-responsibility rather than dependence and blame.

Myers-Briggs Workshops:

  • MBTI is arguably the most widely used personality assessment in the world today.

Outplacement and Career Transition Programmes:
This is the ideal service to draw on in instances where individuals’ positions are being disestablished or significantly impacted in other ways as a consequence of restructuring, down-sizing, technological change, or other changes in an organisation’s business model.

Iolite’s outplacement and career transition services are customised to suit clients’ needs. They are extremely effective in assisting individuals to identify and transition into new employment roles and opportunities.

Depending on the situation and the environment of each workplace, these programmes may include: dealing with transition, personality profiling, career assessment exercises, and also support coaching for transitioning to self-employment, retirement, and alternative employment opportunities (including CV preparation, interview skills and job search strategies).

These services can also be delivered as either workshops or one-on-one programmes.

Stress Management Workshops:

Through these workshops individuals will develop an understanding of the nature of stress and the way it affects them individually. They will also learn to develop strategies to cope with stress and identify possible methods for isolating, minimising and eliminating stress in the workplace.

This workshop also includes the option of incorporating a section on personality type preferences. This can be an extremely useful to build understanding about how individual personality preferences contribute to how different members of a team respond to stress in different ways. Teams working together with this level of awareness are typically much more resilient and continue to function much more productively during challenging seasons.

These workshops, and the tools they offer, help cultivate a sustainable work environment even during those tough seasons.

Team Development / Performance Workshops:

Designed to assist teams in fostering openness and trust, these workshops create a neutral, affirming environment within which teams are enable to discuss differences, explore diversity, and increase their collective ability to work to the complementary strengths and differences within the team.

As a result, teams are immediately able to increase productivity by aligning the required tasks and responsibilities with particular preferences and strengths within the team. They also generate the ability to identify team assets and blind spots.

These workshops cover issues relating to communication, team culture, leadership, change, problem solving/conflict resolution and stress. These workshops also include either the MBTI or TMS profiling tools.

Team Management Profiling Workshops:

Team Management Profiles provide individuals and teams with an understanding of their work preferences. Identifying work preferences is a critical component in developing individual, team and organisational performance. Team profiles are developed from combined individual assessments using a 60-question assessment tool, focused on enhancing a team’s understanding of each individual's work approach and preferences, and how these come together in a team environment.

Based on responses to the profile questionnaire, the personal Team Management Profile provides constructive, work-based information outlining an individual's work preferences and the strengths that each individual brings to a team.

Work preferences are explored in terms of:

  • How each team member prefers to relate to others
  • How each person gathers and uses information
  • How each individual makes decisions
  • How each person organises themselves and others
  • The personal Team Management Profile highlights primary and secondary work preferences, including information about each individual’s leadership strengths, decision-making style, interpersonal skills and inherent teambuilding strengths.
