What we do..
We provide private consultations. When you simply have too many options or need an ear, someone to guide you in the right direction, then that is the perfect one for us. InspirEd Learning Directions is independent so has’ no barrow to push’. An independent assessment of the situation – often this saves money – parents rather than spending money on inappropriate programmes.
We screen for Irlens InspirEd learning Directions makes use of The Irlen Method, in an informal one to one conversation in your own home. Registered screeners identify those learners who would benefit from wearing coloured lenses . Statistically this is one in eight of the general population. The Irlen Method is a non-invasive technology that uses coloured overlays and filters to improve the brain's ability to process visual information. It is the only method scientifically proven to successfully correct the processing problems associated with Irlen Syndrome. This technology can improve reading fluency, comfort, comprehension, attention, and concentration while reducing light sensitivity. This is not a method of reading instruction. It is a color-based technology that filters out offensive light waves, so the brain can accurately process visual information. The Irlen method has received international acclaim and is included in professional journals and textbooks. It has also been featured in national and international media, including National Geographic, 60 Minutes, Good Morning America, ABC World News, NBC News, the BBC and TV shows in Ireland, Hong Kong, Netherlands, New Zealand, South Korea, and Australia. We are interested in providing an ‘InspirEd package’ for your school – including the staff meeting on Irlen as professional development to enable identification of all children and staff with Irlens and a follow up screening consultation. Research shows that 48%of children identified with reading difficulties will benefit from using Irlen filters. Liaising with the local Irlen Diagnostic clinic for the complete service.
