Recently we were engaged to measure the volume of a silage heap, as the change over date for sharemilkers is fast approaching.
Normally it would be a reasonably straight forward task to estimate, if the silage was contained inside a pit of some type. But in this case the shape was a mound, and the farmer involved wanted an accurate gauge on the volume he was leaving behind. For reasonable cost, we were able to provide him with an accurate volume so the value of the silage could be accounted for on changeover day. Change over day is fast approaching.
