Comprehensive ancillary services are available within the Royston Centre.

Family and friends can phone you by dialing (06) 873 1111 Extn: 0. Our receptionist will transfer calls directly to your room.

Patients and visitors are asked to check with nursing staff regarding the use of cell phones within the hospital as these can interfere with calibrated medical equipment.

Cultural needs

Please let us know if you have any spiritual or cultural needs. If the services of an interpreter are required, please let us know well in advance of your admission to ensure that this is arranged. There is a cost for this service.

Meal times are: Breakfast – 8:00am, Lunch - 12 noon, Dinner – 5:30pm.
In addition, you will be offered morning and afternoon tea and supper.

Our menu endeavours to cater for a variety of tastes and dietary needs. However, if nothing appeals, please ask for an alternative. If you have any particular dietary needs please discuss these with your nurse. Our food services staff will endeavour to ensure that any special requests are met.

Reasonably priced meals can be ordered from the receptionist and a complimentary tea and coffee facility is available in the reception foyer.

Parent or Caregiver

Arrangements may be made for a parent or caregiver of a patient who requires additional non-medical care, to be accommodated at the hospital. Please discuss your requirements with the Theatre Bookings Co-ordinator or Ward Team Leader prior to admission. Charges may apply.

Your specialist and nursing staff will discuss with you the need for any physiotherapy. While you are free to make arrangements with any physiotherapist of your choice, Royston Hospital does receive an excellent service from the on-site physiotherapists at Focus Health. Located in the Royston Centre, Focus Health is well placed to meet your needs while you are in hospital and will be happy to continue to provide service after your discharge.
