Underfloor heating can be used in addition to, or instead of, radiators. Hot water pipes are laid into the concrete floor slab, which warm the floor to a preset temperature controlled by a thermostat. The temperature of the water used for underfloor heating is 40ºC, which produces a maximum floor slab temperature of 29ºC. The room temperature is usually about 6ºC cooler. Underfloor heating works best with concrete or tiled areas, but it can also be used in carpeted rooms. Hot water underfloor heating systems are much more economical to run than electric underfloor heating. F.L. Bone uses German brand Aquatherm.

Warm air rises from the radiators and colder air in the room falls, creating a flow of air around the room which sends warm air from the radiator and delivers cooler air back to be heated. The type of radiator required is determined by the specific heating requirement of the area. Radiators work by heating the air which flows past them.

Insulated Lids – The characteristic insulated lids are a stylish feature of the true range, when in the closed position they retain hotplate heat, leaving the highly polished finish warm to the touch.
