Andrew Newman, CEO of HB Regional Council and boss of Venture Hawke's Bay spoke to HBWCTA members at the quarterly sector meeting on 29 June.  Read what he had to say and find out what else the Association has been up to here.

A recent Tourism Think Tank brought together a focused group of twenty key creative thinkers and entrepreneurs, many internationally renowned, and most with a significant investment in Hawke’s Bay, including tourism operations. 

The Think Tank, the initiative of new Hawke’s Bay Wine Country Tourism Association Chairman, Sam Orton, aimed to brainstorm how to identify and reinforce a shared direction and momentum for the Hawke’s Bay visitor industry and therefore benefit the region.

Chairman of the Board of the new RTO is George Hickton, former CEO of Tourism New Zealand, who will work alongside new General Manager Annie Dundas, whose experience includes being an Executive Team member at Tourism New Zealand in New Zealand and overseas for more than 15 years.
