Natural Health, Therapy, Stress
Amberley Meredith is a New Zealand registered psychologist and a practised Integrative Therapist, as well as a published author. She has worked in the healing field for nearly 15 years across continents and many cultures. Her approach is centred around finding the best solution for you, working with the skills you already have, and helping you develop new ones inside a deeper knowledge and understanding of, firstly, what it is to be human and, secondly, what it is to be you.
People often ask Amberley what kind of therapy she practises. Her answer is very simple. “I practise whatever kind of therapy the person sat opposite me needs in that time and space in their lives. People cannot be categorised or lumped into a diagnosis, nor should they be as this is often limiting and unhelpful. I don’t subscribe to traditional psychological views of diagnosis, treatment and recovery. To me these systems are archaic and they have become dysfunctional. When I work with someone I look into the soul of who they are. I create an intimate (that is close, personal) relationship with them and then in this safe and protected space we explore what it is that has led them to the place they are currently in and what needs to happen to change that space, to create a new environment in which they can flourish and feel healthy, happy and content. If the reasons why someone has become unbalanced are not addressed, then no “treatment” is going to create sustainable healing. Lifelong healing comes from knowing oneself, understanding what it is to be human and learning what works best for you.”
