Waiapu - early childhood

By: Waiapu Anglican Social Services  06-Dec-2011

The Board operates a variety of Ministry of Education licensed and funded early childhood services comprising nine early childhood centres, two home-based childcare services and one certified playgroup, throughout the Hawkes Bay, Bay of Plenty and Eastland regions.

Organisational growth in the early childhood arm over the past year has evolved, and includes:

• successful applications from MOE to establish a new centre in Tauranga and two Parent Support and Development projects at our Rotorua and Hastings centres.

• a new playgroup sited at the Flaxmere Parish centre.

Our home-based services provide two after-school care programmes for school age children, operating under the OSCAR system run by Child Youth & Family and a comprehensive all-day full-time school holiday programme based at the Whakatane Parish site. Both home-based services operate playgroups for the educarers in six locations across EBOP and Hawkes Bay regions.
