Local businessman Paul Meyer has given 10 years to BNI (Business Network
International) in East and South Auckland. This has involved attending regular
7.00am meetings up to 4 times a week supporting BNI chapters. These are groups
of business people from different industries who meet weekly, build
relationships, educate each other for referrals, and pass business to one
another on a regular basis. Best known for its "Givers Gain" philosophy BNI is
a worldwide professional business referral organisation that has operated in
New Zealand since 1999.
On 1st November 2001 Mr Meyer joined BNI Howick in the category of
recruiting and career consultant. After serving as president and educational
coordinator he applied, and was selected as an Assistant Director for BNI in
2003. That same year he opened his first new chapter at Pukekohe named BNI
Franklin which is today a thriving group with 32 members.
During his contract role with BNI New Zealand he has opened 11 BNI chapters
in South/East Auckland and 1 in Whangarei during his 3 year term as Regional
Director for Northland concurrently.
Mr Meyer says: "I have always enjoyed the discipline of regular business
meetings with like minded people. I would have seen millions of dollars of
business transacted from word of mouth marketing over the years." There is no
better evidence of his loyalty to BNI than his recent achievement of starting a
new chapter locally called BNI Advance. Here he has joined in the Real Estate -
Residential Sales category as a Licensee Salesperson with Ray White at Half
Moon Bay. Mountfort Estate Agents Ltd Licensed (REAA 2008).
Mr Meyer's commitment to BNI was further endorsed when his wife Rosemary
joined him as an Assistant Director in 2008, the same year they were invited to
attend the annual International BNI Conference in USA. Together they now
support 13 BNI chapters with over 250 business members in the South/East
Recently he attended BNI East Auckland's chapter 10th anniversary
celebrations and is seen here on the right with Tom Keefe a past BNI
