Restoration 8mm Film

14th June 2011 - We have not been affected by the Christchurch Earthquake

Ballantyn's Fire 1947 - Copyright Ian Fisher

The horrendous scenes shown in this 8mm film, were restored from 8mm Kodak film shot by Wally Craven of the terrible fire that took place at the Ballantyne's department store in Christchurch 1947. Most of the scratches have been concealed and the colour image restored for this historic footage. Like the 8mm Zupruder film of the assignation of President Kennedy, this film is of historic importance for New Zealand.

Restoring Videotape

VHS Restoration from 16mm Film

This original clip was transferred from a 16mm telekine film from the 1962 ATV UK series Putting On The Donegan.

This starred Lonnie Donegan and his Skiffle Group and was a fabulous series in it's day. A sell through VHS was made available of this series by ITC in 1992, but this clip of Lonnie's number one hit, was not included.

What you are looking at is our reference copy on VHS tape. The original tape had moisture damage and managed to wrap itself round the head drum. The tape had to be removed from the offending machine and the images restored.
