Costs Which are the Responsibility of Individual Residents or Other Agencies

  • Personal toiletries, clothing and belongings.
  • General Practitioner, medical services and prescriptions.
  • Services such as dentists, counsellors, religious ministries, opticians, audiologists,¬†hairdressers, solicitors.
  • Taxis and transport.
  • Private telephone and electrical equipment.
  • Toll calls.
  • Podiatrist.
  • Newspapers if required on individual basis.
  • Educational, vocational, and leisure activities.
  • Special mobility equipment and aides.
  • Continence Supplies. These are provided by Nurse Maude Continence Services.
  • Special safety devices (for example grab rails).
  • Ambulance Service.

Skills Training in Activities of Daily Living and Personal Care tasks. Service Components - to meet unique needs of individual resident. Exercise programme with access to Jelly Park gym and pool. Chaplaincy Services, the Trust has a visiting chaplain. Supervision for Residents in Daily Living Activities. Day to Day management of money if required. Recreation programmes both on and off site. If unable to be done by resident.

Basic first aid- all residential and Rehabilitation staff are trained in first aid. Access to personal mail, telephone and taxi services, newspapers and television. Full weekly cleaning of bedroom unit, and daily unit cleaning maintenance. Access to a General Practitioner and other Support Specialists. Standard Service Components - For Each Resident.

Respite/Carer Support is provided to people over 17 years of age.We cannot provide a residential or respite service to those with primarily an intellectual or psychiatric impairment, those with significant medical, behavioural issues or those who have a drug or alcohol dependency.

Based in Canterbury at 279 Ilam Road, Christchurch, we have strong links with other Laura Fergusson Trusts elsewhere in New Zealand but operate independently of them.
