The sun’s energy is free so, with ever-increasing power bills, it’s never made more sense to look at this clean, quiet cheap source of energy.

Our systems incorporate:

• Digital controllers to optimise your energy collection and control
• Stainless tanks designed to combat corrosion and minimize heat loss
• Glass evacuated solar tubes which are fully weatherproof and contain a copper heat pipe for maximum efficiency.

Solar water heating systems work well in cloudy conditions too. The sun’s infra-red rays penetrate cloud cover and are collected by our systems, meaning day-long collection of the sun’s free energy to bring piping hot water to your home or business.

How Does a Solar Hot Water System Work?

In a ‘close-coupled’ SWH system the storage tank is horizontally mounted immediately above the solar collectors on the roof. No pumping is required as the hot water naturally rises into the tank through ‘thermosiphon’ flow.

In a ‘pump-circulated’ system the storage tank is ground or floor mounted and is below the level of the collectors; a circulating pump moves water or heat transfer fluid between the tank and the collectors.

Our SWH systems are designed to deliver the optimum amount of hot water for most of the year. However, in winter there sometimes may not be sufficient solar heat gain to deliver sufficient hot water; in this case, a gas or electric booster is normally used to heat the water.

A series of major aftershocks – now much diminished but still ongoing – have added to the devastation. Many homes and businesses were destroyed or fatally undermined in the quakes and entire neighbourhoods have been earmarked for re-build or re-location and much Christchurch’s Central Business District remains out of bounds.

Canterbury Power Solutions - how to generate free energy and track it from your smartphone

To get around the lower sunshine hours in Southland, South Westland and South Otago, it’s simply feasible to install a larger surface area of panels relative to the lower sunshine hours experienced. Our solar energy system began producing energy we could use almost immediately and the uber smart wireless Enasolar inverter began transmitting it’s output to our PC and smartphone.
