Invisible braces

Invisalign is the greatest technological advancement in orthodontics in the past 50 years. This amazing straightening product is custom manufactured to suit your individual dental needs. Whether your teeth are crowded, too far apart or have moved since wearing braces before, Invisalign offers a virtually undetectable solution that does not interfere with your day to day activities. There are no metal wires, brackets and mouth irritation generally associated with straightening teeth. Getting the perfect, beautiful smile you have always desired is now so much easier with Invisalign.

How does INVISALIGN work?

Invisalign utilizes state-of-the-art 3D technology in order for you to attain the perfect smile. Computerised imaging depicts the complete treatment plan from the initial positioning of the teeth to the final position. From here a series of custom-made aligners are created, made of strong, clear medical plastic. Each of the aligners is worn for approximately two weeks, before being replaced with the next until the teeth reach their desired position.

What are the benefits of INVISALIGN?

The benefits of Invisalign are outstanding. Being nearly invisible, Invisalign enables you to straighten your teeth without anyone even knowing. It is also removable, allowing you to eat and drink what you wish and brush and floss their teeth to continue good oral hygiene. Invisalign is comfortable and causes less mouth irritation during treatment. Finally you'll be able to see a virtual representation of your teeth before, during, and after completion of the Invisalign process so you can see what your smile should look like when you're done with treatment.

Does INVISALIGN really straighten teeth?

Yes, Invisalign has been clinically proven to effectively straighten teeth with over 1,000,000 cases world-wide. At Bright White, we are committed to employing only the most proven and cutting-edge technology, and are proud to be able to be one of the first dental practices in New Zealand to introduce Invisalign to you.

The stages involved in your treatment include:

Stage 1 - Your initial Consultation

During your first visit we will address all your dental needs and concerns and assess your suitability for treatment with Invisalign. If you decide to go ahead with treatment we will take bite impressions and photographs of your teeth.

Stage 2: Your clear aligners are custom-made

Invisalign technology uses advanced 3D computer imaging to transform the bite impressions into a custom-made series of clear and removable aligners. There maybe 20 to 30 in the series or as few as ten, depending on your individual treatment plan

Stage 3: You receive your new aligners

During your next visit to us, you will receive your first set of aligners. Each set of aligners should be worn for two weeks. Depending on your situation, small adjustments to the teeth maybe required, sometimes a tooth removed to create space, but often no additional procedures.

Stage 4: You wear your aligners

You'll wear each set of aligners day and night, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. You will change your aligners every two weeks as your teeth gradually move. Total treatment time averages less than twelve months, but will vary from case to case. We will require you to visit us every six weeks or so to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.

Stage 5: You've finished treatment!

Congratulations! When you're finished wearing each aligner in the series, your treatment will be complete and you will have the perfectly aligned smile you've always wanted.

Our procedure removes visible decay and restores the tooth with either a silver or cosmetic filling, preventing bacteria from accessing the vulnerable inner layers of the tooth and maintaining your dental health. Since a decayed tooth also harbors bacteria, it is important to halt its progress, before a minor cavity grows into severe pain. The same can be done for a broken tooth.

Teeth Whitening

As the hydrogen peroxide is broken down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin, bleaching coloured substances while the structure of the tooth is unchanged. To keep your teeth looking their best, we recommend flossing, brushing twice daily, and occasional touch-ups with our optional follow-up kit. We are leaders in this field, being one of the country’s top whitening users according to our suppliers.
