Neil & Judy Cooper have been operating their water pump and irrigation services business in Te Puke for 32 years under the company name ‘Industrial & Farm Services Ltd’ so it was quite a big decision to drop that name and rebrand the business under the ‘Think Water Bay of Plenty’ banner. Neil says “Australian Bryan Ward, Think Water’s General Manager, had been pursuing us for about 2 years before we finally made the commitment to join the group. We did our due diligence and our advisors told us it was one of the best franchise agreements they had seen. Their operating philosophy, technical support and group buying power coupled with our existing business were a natural fit so we decided to go ahead with it”.
Think Water is a leading international network of independently-owned water services businesses. They specialise in the design and implementation of the most water-efficient irrigation and water management programs for clients across all sectors and all regions of Australia and New Zealand. Beginning in Australia 4 years ago, Think Water expanded to New Zealand in early 2010 and now has nearly 50 member businesses.
Think Water Bay of Plenty will continue to do what we have always done in terms of servicing our customers with timely water pump repairs, bore pump lifts, frost protection, irrigation & effluent system design and installation. We continue to maintain healthy stock levels of essential parts and fittings in our refurbished showroom in order to achieve speedy turnaround for customers who have no water when their pumps break down or reticulation pipes get damaged. The personnel remains the same but smartening up the building, showroom, signage and clothing with the new branding colours and logo’s has given the team a boost in terms of presenting ourselves and the business in a more professional and efficient manner.
We are basically a one-stop water shop and as well as fixing pumps and pipes also specialise in saving water and improving the quality and delivery of it, whether it be for drinking, irrigation or sanitation. Whatever the source of your water, Think Water can improve the efficiency of how you get it, store it and use it. In-house design engineer Peter Chissell continues to utilise his 30+ years of experience by incorporating water efficiency ideas in every concept plan he produces on his CAD system.
We have always been heavily involved in the dairy industry through parts and servicing for cowsheds, effluent dispersal and pasture irrigation. This will continue as usual with expert cowshed technician Peter Wheeler recently completing a milking machines refresher course.
The new Think Water partnership and investment Neil & Judy have just made in their building and facilities in these uncertain times can be taken as a vote of confidence in our prime marketplace and customer base - the rural lifestyle and productive sector (including dairy farmers and kiwifruit orchardists) of Te Puke and the wider Bay of Plenty.
