Product Development - Our Mission

Throughout the development process for our additive releasing technology, we have met with industry experts and advisors, and sought to understand what it was that was required from such technology. After all, we knew that the concept of a dual part bottle or additive releasing cap wasn't new, but we also knew that no-one had been able to deliver a solution that met all the criteria required by industry users and bottling companies.

Here's a summary of what we discovered that the various industry sectors required -

  • Functional easy-to-use dispensing system that consumers could actively engage with
  • Consumer appeal
  • Safe system with no small parts that could dislodge
  • Cost effective and fast production processes
  • Opportunity for mass production
  • Broad appeal across industry sectors
  • Versatility in size/compounds
  • Integration into standard bottling processes

We are pleased to advise that SJI's additive releasing technology delivers on all counts.

Dual Cavity Bottle

The dual cavity bottle allows for an liquid, powder or tablet additive to sit in the base of the bottle, with the bottle being suitable for standard cold-fill bottling processes. The use of SJI's bottle technology can be discussed with any incumbent supplier to ensure continuity of contract. The additive releasing base technology is currently available in two sizes - 9cc and 22cc capacity.

Fresh Cap

The use of SJI's cap technology can be discussed with any incumbent supplier to ensure continuity of contract. The cap assembly and filling can be contracted to SJI in New Zealand using a MFA approved lab. The additive releasing cap technology can be developed to any size. The option for a TGA lab is currently being investigated.

3 Part Bottle

This product is already being commercially produced under license and exported globally by SJI's New Zealand based biotech client. The use of SJI's bottle technology can be discussed with any incumbent supplier to ensure continuity of contract. The opportunity exists to assemble the 'fresh cap' onto a dual cavity bottle, thus creating a three part bottle.
