The lodge’s restaurant is among the leading provincial restaurants in New Zealand.
With an international reputation for excellent cuisine, fostered and maintained by the lodge’s owner Harrie Geraerts, is backed by 22 years of international experience and membership of the French hospitality organization, Chaine de Rotisseurs.
Fantail Lodge cuisine was recognized by the New Zealand Truffle Association which chose Harrie at Fantail to serve New Zealand’s first truffle crop. But it’s more than just culinary experience, Harrie likes to be familiar with his guests, and makes it a habit to speak with them after their meal.
The restaurant can cater for up to 100 guests. The emphasis is on local gourmet fare, featuring (estate grown) fresh, local produce & award winning wines.
Menus are designed around the requirements of the group, taking into account the activities of the day, the length of stay and any specific requests.
Breakfast & Lunch is served buffet style in our sun lounge. This is a separate, less formal room which attracts the morning sun. A great place to read the morning’s newspaper and confirm the days events.
