ERMAK Hydraulic Press Brake

April, 2011

The Ermak CNC press brake is a new addition to the Baumeier catalogue. Synchronized hydraulic cylinders make the Ermak one of the best for precision repeatability performance. This 190 ton press brake takes our capabilities to a new level, allowing us to bend thicker gauge materials than in the past. Just another example of how Baumeier continues to grow to meet the needs of its clients! For more information of what Baumeier can do for you

High-speed Milling at Baumeier

March, 2011

The addition of a Haas VF2 capable of 30,000rpm spindle speeds brings the ability for high-speed milling to Baumeier. High-speed milling (HSM) of light metals such as aluminum and magnesium results in high quality surface finish and shorter machining cycles. In some cases high-speed machining can even eliminate the need for grinding.

HSM is well suited for aerospace and automotive applications. Parts previously manufactured by conventional milling, especially small parts being machined with tools of small diameters particularly benefit from HSM. HSM has the advantage of higher productivity, reduction of the number of operations, increased tool life, and an increase of surface finish quality.

To experience the benefits of HSM

In an effort to ensure uninterrupted service to our clientele Baumeier Corporation has introduced two e-mail addresses to centralize our quoting and order processing.

Live Tooling Turning Centre

November, 2010

A brand new Hyundai SKT250 SY has hit the floor at Baumeier. The 4 axis lathe comes equipped with a sub-spindle, axial live tooling and radial live tooling. The machine boasts a maximum swing of 620mm (24"). The live tooling can work a maximum diameter of 410mm (16") and length of 700mm (27"). This new technology adds a new dimension for Baumeier and allows us to get the job done in fewer setups, at the lower cost.

Welcome Mori Seiki NV 5000!

Baumeier Corporation Introduces Laser Welding Technology

April, 2010

Baumeier is pleased to announce the official launch of laser welding services at its facility. The new Trumpf TruLaser Station hit the floor this month and is now operational and has been introduced into regular production. The laser welder utilizes YAG laser technology to join multiple pieces of metal. This acquisition is a part of Baumeier's ongoing effort to introduce innovation to the manufacturing processes available to its clientele.

Laser welding uses a concentrated heat source and allows for narrow, deep welds, and high weld rates. Coupled with computer numerical control (CNC) the machine creates welds as accurate as the provided substrate, with excellent repeatability. Laser welding generates very high temperatures, which melt the material on a focal point of around 0.5 to 1 millimeters in diameter. Because of its narrow working area, the laser is particularly suitable for welding of thing gauge material. This technology opens new doors in design possibilities and the high rate of weld deposit makes it an economical choice for many applications.

CNC CMM Technology Comes to Baumeier

October, 2008

With the acquisition of a Wenzel Xorbit CNC CMM Baumeier continues to expand its capabilities to meet the needs of its clientele.

The machine is an automated gantry-style CMM with a measurable area of 1000mm x 900mm x 700mm. This new equipment will allow Baumeier to provide more in depth inspection reports for its clients as well as offer automated inspection protocols.
