What is pasturemag?

Pasturemag is a convenient granular fertiliser that contains all five major plant nutrients - nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium (blended to your requirements), sulphur and magnesium, plus calcium for plant and animal health.

Why choose pasturemag?

Pasturemag is the ideal choice for many farming situations, but offers special benefits for dairy farmers. Low soil magnesium levels around calving can lead to the development of grass staggers and milk fever. A typical application of pasturemag to dairy land supplies sufficient magnesium to meet the normal maintenance requirements of most dairy operations, so helping to prevent animal health problems. In addition, the inclusion of nitrogen promotes a rapid pasture response, while the phosphorus and sulphur encourage long-term clover growth. Applying all the major nutrients in one product can help save on spreading costs

Using pasturemag

  • The pasturemag range of products is designed to be used alone; however, they can be blended with certain other fertilisers.
  • Pasturemag products are compatible with potash, SOA (sulphate of ammonia), triple super, sulphur gain and Serpentine Super.
  • Care should be taken if pasturemag products are mixed with n-rich urea or n-rich ammo. Such mixes should be spread immediately on receipt.
  • Pasturemag products should be stored in cool, dry conditions. Exposure to moisture, e.g. rain, puddles, high humidity, will cause the products to deteriorate, which will make spreading difficult.

Availability of pasturemag

The pasturemag range of products is available from all Ballance service centres and consignment stores. Pasturemag products may be ordered by contacting our customer services team, your local technical sales representative or your preferred rural merchant.

Ballance - sulphur gain

Areas that are subject to high rainfall may suffer from significant losses of soil sulphur through leaching, and these soils are particularly likely to benefit from the use of sulphur gain. Sulphur gain is also ideal for use in capital sulphur fertiliser programmes, and provides a cost-effective way of spreading sulphur, phosphate and calcium in one hit.

Products in the pasturezeal G2 range make use of Ballance's patented coated urea technology, which allows us to offer much more stable blends of nitrogen and phosphorus. Pasturezeal G2 products may be ordered by contacting our customer services team, your local technical sales representative or your preferred rural merchant.

Ballance - superten

Superten products may be ordered by contacting our customer services team, your local technical sales representative or your preferred rural merchant. The superten range of products has been designed specifically for the farmer looking for high performance and value for money. These mixes are at risk of becoming wet and lumpy, which will result in poor spreading and problems for spreading equipment.
