Hills Signal Master to deliver Targeted Assistance Package

Hills Signal Master has been contracted by Going Digital to manage the delivery of the Targeted Assistance Package across New Zealand.

The Going Digital package provides necessary equipment to eligible individuals to enable them to make the transition to digital television. Those eligible will receive a set top box, an antenna or satellite dish if necessary, installation, training and access to an aftercare technical helpline.

The Package is carefully targeted to assist those in genuine need and will directly support elderly people on fixed incomes and disabled people make the transition to digital television

The package will ensure eligible people don’t lose access to their existing television channels, and one television per eligible household will be converted to digital.

“We’re very pleased to have been appointed with providing the package across the nation,” Hills Signal Master New Zealand Manager, Paul O'Neill-Gregory said. “It’s rewarding for Hills to be involved in a scheme which ensures all Kiwis have access to digital television, regardless of any financial or technical barriers,” Paul said.

The Targeted Assistance Package will support local businesses around the country, as installation will be subcontracted to local installers.

The Going Digital Targeted Assistance Package will be launched next month and then roll out on a regional basis as the remainder of the country goes digital.  The package will open at least six months prior to the date each region goes digital.
