RIM is a moulding technique similar to injection moulding where the two liquid components an isocyanate and polyol are mixed and injected into a mould under high pressure. The mixture is allowed to expand and cure in the mould.

The physical characteristics of polyurethane RIM parts are high strength and low weight.

Advantages
1. Production of strong, flexible light weight mouldings
2. Good cycle times
3. High density skin, lower density core
