Does your sash window keep sliding down when opened? or is your sash window hard to open? If so, the chances are a sash cord has snapped and the balance weights has fallen down inside the cavity. Villa windows can replace your sash cords with 100% cotton fibre that will withstand the harsh New Zealand sun and resist deterioration. Most other cords have a synthetic inner that perishes and will only last a few summers. We also make sure the pulley wheels are operating correctly and repair or replace as necessary. Sash cord replacement of both upper and lower sash windows is a procedure that takes about 2-4hrs. It involves the following: Removal of staff bead. Removal of lower sash. Removal of Inner parting bead. Removal of top sash. Replacement of synthetic cord to 100% cotton cord. Checking balance weights and fitting new cord to weight. Refitting in reverse order. Checking for correct operation.
