Each day the extension room is run with our older children (toddlers 15 – 24 months). This time includes one-to-one interactions which are intimate and sociable for both groups with teachers who are familiar.
Daily group activities allow your child to practice cooperation, sharing and taking turns, and provide enjoyable opportunities for getting to know others.
It is a whole new world when babies take to their feet. They walk, they talk and they begin to develop relationships with each other. Our program is filled with real-world, sensory experiences, emphasizing the importance of their environment and relationships. Your child will build cognitive, language, motor and social skills, while beginning to explore the continually expanding world around him or her. Our teachers provide a high level of interaction while individually nurturing each child.
Much of our toddler programme is based on real-world sensory experiences. They spend much of the day singing, dancing, laughing, playing and exploring-indoors and out. Amongst other things, they begin to learn basic words and numbers play simple games and develop relationships with each other.
This is a critical time to develop vocabulary, so we devote many of our activities to linguistic skills.
We have planned activities that involve the senses and use movement to engage your child and assist in brain development. Toddlers love to push buttons, turn pages, mold with clay and play in the sandpit.
Children at this age are terrific learners. They are beginning to understand group play and become better at communicating their thoughts. Our curriculum emphasises language development to help children turn their ideas into words and sentences. Skills are presented in a logical, natural sequence to encourage step-by-step learning, and your child will have plenty of group activities to practice social skills, such as cooperation, sharing and taking turns. Our teachers listen and make sure that your child is happy and having fun while learning.
