This course will cover basic hand skills and workshop practice; from basic bench management, the recovery of precious metals, safe handling of tools and machines in the workshop. It is open to all learners regardless of experience. For new students, there are 3 compulsory pieces made in Sterling Silver; A plain band ring, a monogram pendant and a rub-over setting for a pendant or ring. These will give an introduction to basic hand skills required for this course, leading on to being able to make jewellery at craft level. Returning students go straight into making your own designs. All tutors are experienced jewellers. There are two tutors and a maximum of 20 students per class, & are run on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evening, 6pm to 9pm.
